Recently, a carillon with 25 bells made by the Grassmayr bell foundry in Innsbruck was installed on the” Zwölferturm” tower, which dominates over the whole town of Vipiteno. The mysterious effect of the bells is a hallmark of Austria's oldest family business since 1599. The secret of their craftsmanship is carefully guarded and passed down from father to son. That is why - like a tradition - it has been preserved for 14 generations and is constantly being extended through research.

Freelance musician and composer Josef Haller from Sterzing has composed a piece - with orchestra accompaniment - for the carillon. The premiere took place in December 2020. Josef Haller sat at the piano and played the music box creating a special and almost magical atmosphere.

This show will be repeated in the Advent period every Saturday at 5 pm and on Sundays at 12 pm with Josef Haller and the musicians of Sterzing. On working days the carillon will automatically play at 5 pm.
